Getting to Gatlinburg, TN
Gatlinburg is grateful our community was unaffected by the recent impacts of Hurricane Helene and that roads are clear for travel throughout our immediate area and remains fully accessible. Our hearts go out to our friends in Northeast Tennessee and Western North Carolina who were affected with severe flooding. Many Gatlinburg businesses, attractions, and organizations are offering giveback opportunities to visitors this season. By visiting, you are helping. Current Tennessee Road Closures
Currently, I-40 is reduced to ONE LANE in each direction near the Tennessee/North Carolina border.
Speeds reduced to 35 mph. Expect delays, especially on weekends.
I-26 in Unicoi County is reopened to all traffic but is reduced to one lane between MM 39 and MM 40 in Erwin.
All overweight vehicles and any vehicle wider than 10 feet are prohibited and must continue to use the established I-81 and I-77 detour.
As always, Newfound Gap Rd is closed to ALL commercial vehicles
