Gatlinburg celebrates the fall season with one of its best foodie experiences, the Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff Presented by Bush’s® Chili Beans on Wednesday, November 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. Festival-goers enjoy chili samplings from the area’s top restaurants, live musical performances, activities and much more with their ticket purchase to this family-friendly event.

Renowned Bon Jovi tribute band, Slippery When Wet, the Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute, takes this year’s Chili Cookoff back to the 80s with their acclaimed imitation of one of America’s most iconic rock bands. Performances begin at 6:15 p.m. on the Bush’s Best Stage. Bluegrass band The Grassabillies kick off the night’s musical entertainment at 5:15 p.m.

Slippery When Wet has performed over 1,500 shows throughout the U.S. alone and has traveled to Africa, Mexico, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. They have headlined on over 60 cruises on the Royal Caribbean cruise line and played the pre-game of Super Bowl 48 in East Rutherford, NJ. The band shows are the most attended and highest grossing of any Bon Jovi Tribute in the country. Slippery When Wet is the most searched Bon Jovi Tribute band on Google, as well as has the most views of any Bon Jovi Tribute on YouTube. In 2007, the band was officially authorized by Bon Jovi to perform their highly entertaining show. In 2018, Jason Morey was chosen to perform as their only impersonator to Jon Bon Jovi in the Legends in Concert show in Las Vegas.

Near the festival’s end, chili vendors battle it out for the coveted People’s Choice, Best Booth Presentation and other categorical awards. Ticket booth entrance points will be located at 705 Parkway and River Road, and open before the event at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Children 5 years of age under enter for free.
