Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts has announced their plan to expand veteran scholarships to their national arts and crafts workshops with a marketing campaign, in partnership with Ole Smoky Distillery.

The goal of the campaign is to raise funds to offer a wider range of support for veterans interested in experiencing Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. The scholarships will offer US military veterans the opportunity to attend multi-day workshops for free or at a reduced cost.

Ole Smoky Distillery launched the campaign on social media with a message from their CEO, Robert Hall. “Our hope is that not only will more veterans get to experience a workshop at Arrowmont, but that we’ll be able to double or triple the number of scholarships they offer. We believe the Ole Smoky audience will join us in supporting this worthy cause.”

Testimonial video from the campaign highlights the importance of giving back to former servicemen and women, and the healing powers of arts and crafts. Veterans, Jessica Dial and Clifton Chisum had this to share –

“Please help Veterans come to Arrowmont and experience this place. You never know what you're giving to somebody just by allowing them to attend.” – Jessica Dial, U.S. Navy retired

“About 7% of the population has been in the service. They do an awful lot for people who haven’t been in the service. So I think people need to donate to take care of those guys.” – Clifton Chisum, U.S. Navy retired
