Gatlinburg will host its 23rd Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Rocky Top Sports World, honoring United States Military Veterans for their service and heroism. Beginning at 11 a.m., the community-wide ceremony will recognize the bravery and valor of our military veterans and their families who have made sacrifices to protect the freedoms of the United States of America.

The celebration will feature musical entertainment by the Gatlinburg-Pittman High School Band and Chorus, as well as, Jay Teter, Master of Ceremonies for Dolly Parton’s Stampede. Teter will perform The Star-Spangled Banner. American Legion Post 202 and Girl Scout Troop 20648 will provide special presentations commemorating the holiday. Retired Gatlinburg Police Department Captain Jim Maples, a Vietnam Veteran, will present the POW-MIA Table and Invocation. Retired U.S. Navy Commander Breckenridge Morgan will present special recognition for Gold Star and Blue Star Families. There will also be a Quilt of Valor Presentation. Bronze Star recipient, highly decorated Iraq War Veteran and Tennessee native, Major Kyle Farley will add to the ceremony as special keynote speaker. Don Dare, WATE reporter and military veteran, will emcee the event, which will also be broadcasted live on WATE.

The Gatlinburg Veterans Day Celebration is free and open to the public.
