The distinctive European village theme is the area's main draw, but once inside, the buildings' architecture, upscale atmosphere, landscaping and the beautiful fountain delight visitors. Friday and Saturday year-round they are open from 10 am - 10 pm for your shopping pleasure. Check ahead for other days as their schedule does vary by time of year. Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community is a must

Finding the perfect souvenir to remember your Gatlinburg vacation is easy when you visit the Arts & Crafts Community. With over 100 artists and craftsmen, Gatlinburg’s Arts & Crafts Community is a living, breathing tribute to the history of Tennessee. The carvers, weavers, watercolor artists, casters, soap makers, potters, silversmiths and dozens of other artisans skillfully demonstrate their abilities before thousands of visitors. The community is set on an 8-mile loop road that’s designated a Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail. The Arts & Crafts Community can be reached using the Yellow Trolley from downtown Gatlinburg.

Ober Gatlinburg definitely is the place to play in the winter months. If you aren't into skiing or snow tubing, you can enjoy it for the restaurants and shops, which provide so many opportunities to see gorgeous scenery while you are either eating or browsing the many specialty items for sale. A fun place to shop is the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway Mall. Located at 1001 Parkway, this stop is a must. You can take the tram up to the top of the mountain and get off to find a number of shops and eateries that offer specialties like homemade fudge, hand-painted crafts, outdoor gear, souvenirs and more. You can roam their stores and have fun shopping indoors if the weather is brisk outside.
