What Customers are Saying

Dear Gatlinburg CVB & Convention Center, It was an incredible experience working with your team. I think we are a “difficult group” with so many moving parts. We work had to make the Interchurch Holiness Convention the best possible for our people, and so we are always calling and asking and begging for one more favor. You all went above and beyond the call of duty. On the very first night, we knew our people had voted with their enthusiastic attendance of 3,500+, they wanted to move from Dayton to Gatlinburg. We hope that we will be a blessing to you all as we look forward to returning to Gatlinburg for the next four years. I am grateful for all you did personally working with our team. On behalf of all of the IHC Family, thank you.
James Plank | General Secretary | INTERCHURCH HOLINESS CONVENTION (3,500+ attendees)
It was such a pleasure to be there with you all in Gatlinburg for our North American Mission Board Timothy Barnabas Retreat. The entire Gatlinburg team (CVB, Convention Center, F&B Caterer) was so wonderful to work with, we could not have asked for a better event. Many couples have expressed their gratitude for such a wonderful experience.
Jonathan Catanzaro, Evangelism & Leadership | Timothy+Barnabas | North American Mission Board 300 attendees
I just could not leave our event without letting someone know how fantastic Lexan (Food & Beverage Manager) is with Holston’s Kitchen Catering Company. I have been with the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants and coming to the convention center for the last 8 years, and the food has never been this good, not by a long shot. I have a food allergy and Lexan was always making sure that I had something to eat, and anyone with familiarity with Gatlinburg knows how hard it can be to eat in the city when you have an allergy. I think last year I survived on protein bars for a full week. I am in a much better mood this year! But it is not just me. I have heard from so many attendees just how happy they are with the food. It is a far cry from "airline chicken". There were several comments on how this is the kind of food you find in upscale restaurants, not a convention center. It has far and above made their experience a more enjoyable one. Anyway, she is amazing, and I hope all groups that come to the Gatlinburg Convention Center tell her so!
Mallory Briggs, MPA | Special Event and Conference Coordinator | Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants (279 attendees)
The USDA Farm Service Agency really enjoyed having our meeting in Gatlinburg for the first time. The CVB and Convention Center Staff were great, the hotels in Gatlinburg were great, and the entire city of Gatlinburg was great. We really look forward to having other meetings in Gatlinburg in the future.
James Welborn, Farm Loan Chief, USDA Farm Service Agency (70 attendees)
We want to thank the employees of Gatlinburg Convention Center and Gatlinburg CVB for the outstanding assistance and service we recently received for the Isshin-ryu Hall of Fame 40th Event. The service we received from Event Manager’s Guy and Amber along with caterer Proof of the Pudding’s Brandon was off the charts fabulous. Scott and Jada with the convention center were also extremely helpful. Everyone we worked with was extremely helpful and seemed to really care about the event being successful. The Isshin-ryu Hall of Fame will continue to return to Gatlinburg and the Gatlinburg Convention Center.
Carol Burris, Event Planner, Isshin-ryu Hall of Fame (1005 attendees)
We could not be happier with everything that took place in Gatlinburg and the Gatlinburg Convention Center during the Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Conference. The entire Gatlinburg team went above and beyond our expectations and everyone was so helpful, happy and energetic. We are super excited to work with Gatlinburg again for future events. Looks like nothing but positive feedback on social media for the event as well. Yay! Please give many thanks to the entire Gatlinburg team!

The Western Kentucky University T/TAS held a 3-day training event at the Gatlinburg Convention Center and we were very happy with the professional services provided. The Home-Based Institute is an annual training that we have held every year for the last 29 years. The entire Convention Center staff was attentive to our needs throughout our event, and the facility itself is attractive, comfortable, and appealing. We loved working with Dian with the CVB Sales Department, Scott and Ed with the building, and with the entire Proof of the Pudding catering staff. Someone was always within a short walk or shout away to help us out. Our trainers and participants enjoyed the time spent at the Convention Center as well as the city of Gatlinburg. We are excited to return next year for our 30th anniversary of this particular event.
Holly Hatcher, Program Coordinator, Western Kentucky University (275 attendees)
We had a great time during the 44th Tennessee Square & Round Dance Convention where the weekend was full of fun and fellowship, with wall to wall dancers! Beginning Thursday evening and continuing through Saturday evening, Callers, Cuers & Line Dance Instructors entertained and challenged dancers from 25 states and Canada. A registration of 1,300+ sets a new high and raises the bar for 2019 where we will once again be in Gatlinburg!
R.G. Pratt, Tennessee State Association of Square & Round Dance Clubs (1,320 attendees)
The Convention Center staff is incredibly easy to work with. They are really on their game and make my life easier as a meeting planner. If I ever need something I know that I can page someone on the radio and have full confidence that it will be taken care of. I cannot say enough good things about Missy Reagan as my event manager. She’s in a league of her own! I also received numerous compliments on the catered food this year provided by Proof of the Pudding. The Tennessee Association of Utility Districts event has grown, and both the catering staff and convention center staff have handled that growth with ease. With new hotels coming into the city it makes it so convenient to have several choices within walking distance.
Beth Hardiman, Meeting Planner, Tennessee Association of Utility Districts (765 attendees)
For the past fifteen years Stage One Productions has hosted a National Dance Competition at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. We have come to know and trust the staff as family. From the time we arrive to our departure there is always helpful staff available to provide assistance. One of the things we have appreciated in our fifteen years of hosting a competition is the friendliness and consistency of the staff. Each year the Gatlinburg Convention Center team helps us create an atmosphere that is professional and fun for the dancers and their families. It is a favorite for our clients and they have returned for multiple years. The location of the convention center gives our clients many options for entertainment. The partnership between Stage One Productions and the Gatlinburg Convention Center is perfectly suited. We both maintain the same core values of friendliness, professionalism and family. We plan to continue partnering with them for many years to come.
Lisa Hamilton, Stage One Productions (1,525 attendees)
We at Smoky Mountain by Owners had a first-class experience with your center and your CVB Sales crew. As soon as we arrived everything was taken care of and your staff waited on us for anything we needed. It was a pleasure to know everything was working and ready for our event! You made us look great! Thanks to everyone for your help.

The Gatlinburg Convention Center and city of Gatlinburg is one of the best! The convention center and CVB staff provided us incredible service once again at the annual Church of God Smoky Mountain Kidfest. The facility is great, and we are thankful to have the opportunity to work with familiar faces each year, providing stability to our program.
Tony Lane, Coordinator, Smoky Mountain Kidfest (1,600 attendees)
The Gatlinburg Regional Bridge Tournament has been held in Gatlinburg at the Gatlinburg Convention Center for over 25 years. We have found the Convention Center Staff to be outstanding and responsive to our every need. Their contribution in making this tournament “America’s Favorite Regional” has played no small part in the success the tournament has enjoyed over the years. We look forward too many additional years working with the talented group of Gatlinburg hospitality professionals.
Pete Misslin, Gatlinburg Regional Bridge Tournament, Regional Co-Chair (8,100 attendees)
The service provided to us by the Gatlinburg Convention Center Staff was nothing short of excellent and attentive. With a partnership between the Tennessee Future Farmers of America event and the City of Gatlinburg exceeding forty years, it’s easy to say that the hospitality we receive ensures that we will not want to look anywhere else! Thank you to everyone in Gatlinburg for making our annual State Convention a success year after year.
Courtney Halfacre, Middle Tennessee Consultant, Tennessee Department of Education (3,400 attendees)
We have partnered with the Gatlinburg Convention Center for many years now for our Timothy Barnabas Pastor & Wives Retreat and value the relationship. In my opinion, the downtown location, the facility and house equipment are impossible to beat in Gatlinburg. Every year the house caterer and the amazing staff from the sales office to the event staff are all top shelf.
Allen Scroggs, Director of Operations, Timothy+Barnabas, Inc. (300 attendees)
We look forward to our Performance Food Service Spring Food Show every year and can’t imagine having it any place other than the great city of Gatlinburg. The staff at the CVB and convention center are second to none—helpful, accommodating, timely, responsive and best of all, friendly and real. The PFH staff and our customers appreciate the hospitality extended us by the great city of Gatlinburg year-after-year. See you next year!

Accelerant 2018 was the best year yet of our 21-year history! We set a new attendance record as well as a new project offering record. We’ve had a long and beneficial relationship with Gatlinburg. The culture of service at the convention center along with the safe and family atmosphere of Gatlinburg keeps us coming back.
Greg Amos, Bishop of the South Carolina Conference, International Pentecostal Holiness Church, Inc. (3,100 attendees)
Our attendees and employees had an awesome time at our annual Tennessee ECD Governor’s Conference in Gatlinburg. Everything went smoothly, and it was due to the collaborative effort by the Gatlinburg hospitality community.
Carly Schroer, Public Information Officer, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (850 attendees)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Gatlinburg CVB & Convention Center for providing us with an opportunity to have a wonderful Tennessee Dental Association Annual Conference this past May. This marked the 150th year of our conference so it was a big year. I cannot think of a single thing that could have been done differently or better for us. Gatlinburg is a special and unique place that provides attendees with many social, dining, lodging and entertainment options.
Michael Dvorak, Executive Director, Tennessee Dental Association (1,100 attendees)
