Stained Glass Square Suncatcher

Students will learn three basic skills of making stained glass. Students will learn the basics of the most important skills in stained glass as they create a simple stained glass suncatcher. First, students will learn to cut glass using a glass cutter to score a line onto the glass, then breaking the glass on the score line. The second skill is to wrap the edges of each piece of cut glass with copper foil. The third skill is to use a soldering iron to affix the pieces together. Students will also learn to use a glass grinder and to wrap the finished piece of glass with soft lead came. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. (Limit 1 non-participating adult per minor.)
