Spring Trout Tournament and Litter Cleanup

For the third consecutive year, the Recreation Department will host a unique fishing tournament on Saturday, April 6. In place of the entry fee, all participants will be required to turn in at least a small grocery bag with litter, which is to be collected from the riverbank during the event, at the weigh-in to be eligible for the fishing prizes. The event is open to adults and children of all ages and will be based out of Herbert Holt Park. Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish, most litter collected, and the most unique litter item collected. Anglers are required to bring a bag of litter from the stream to submit along with their fish at judging. Anglers may keep 5 fish, but the judging will be based on a 2 fish weigh-in. Anyone not registered by 2:00pm of Friday March 29 will have to register in person at Herbert Holt Park on Saturday morning prior to fishing. Please carpool if possible as parking will be limited. Only anglers 12 and under may fish Herbert Holt Park.

The tournament will be based on a two-fish limit. Pre-registration begins on March 25 and runs through 3 p.m. on Friday, March 29.
