Hey, all you skiers and snowboard enthusiasts! Head to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area’s newest slope for a thrilling ride and more options than ever.

Yeti’s Run takes you from the top of the Black Lift down an exciting 635-foot, advanced rated slope that’s sure to challenge and delight you. The new run let’s you extend your ride by connecting you with your choice of Mogul Ridge, Grizzly, or Upper Bear Run.

With a 120-foot vertical drop, the new run is rated advanced, but the folks at Ober Gatlinburg say it’s a little easier than Mogul Ridge or Grizzly. Yeti’s Run is equipped with lights and full snowmaking capabilities, so you can enjoy it anytime, day or night.

Yeti’s Run is Ober’s First New Slope Since…1987!

This is the first new slope Ober Gatlinburg has built since Mogul Ridge in 1987, and the ski area asked fans to help name it. More than 200 name suggestions were submitted via Facebook and email. From those ideas, Ober Gatlinburg picked four possibilities and asked fans to vote on them. Yeti’s Run won, with more than 32 percent of the votes cast in a fan survey.

The new slope expands the skiable area for advanced skiers and riders, but Ober Gatlinburg offers plenty of options for winter sports enthusiasts of all abilities. With nine runs from easy to difficult, a terrain park, and the popular snow tubing park, there’s something for everyone in the family. Want to improve your skills? Take a lesson at the Ski School. Begin Your Adventure with a Ride on the Aerial Tramway in Gatlinburg

Your adventure begins with a scenic ride on the Aerial Tramway from downtown Gatlinburg to the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area and Amusement Park. The Tramway departs regularly from the station at Parkway and LeConte Street in downtown Gatlinburg. Plan on arriving early so you can browse the shops or grab a snack at the Tramway mall. Then board the Tramway car, which carries you 2.1 miles up to the resort at the top of Mt. Harrison while you enjoy breathtaking, 360-degree views of the Smokies.

When you’re ready to take a break from the slopes, Ober Gatlinburg’s got you covered. Pop into the enclosed Mall to watch skaters glide around the huge indoor ice rink. Enjoy a feast with a view at the Seasons of Ober restaurant in the Lodge, or hang out at the Snack Bar, The Market, or the Sidewalk Café in the Mall for a burger, pizza, sandwich or hot chocolate, plus some great people-watching! You’ll also find the best in clothing, accessories, gifts, toys, and more at the Shops at Ober.

The young and young-at-heart won’t want to miss Ober Gatlinburg’s unique Wildlife Encounter, which houses numerous species of wildlife native to the Great Smoky Mountains. Kids will love watching the River Otters play at the underwater viewing area!
