2014 may sound like a space age date but if you're in Gatlinburg on New Year's Eve you can count on enjoying an old time tradition: The 26th Annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show.

Join us to greet 2014 at the intersection of Parkway and the Historic Nature Trail at the base of the Space Needle on New Year's Eve at midnight. You'll experience a memorable spectacle as the Space Needle area will give off a red glow reflected from the surrounding rooftops. Get your party favors ready (you can get some free provided by Mr. Tablecloth near the base of the Space Needle on Historic Nature Trail) and celebrate the New Year! Preceding the midnight celebration you can enjoy musical entertainment and the evening will resound with fireworks at the stroke of midnight!

You can see actress Rachel Grant who will host “Witness The Impossible,” a Las Vegas style stage show beginning at 11:00 PM.  “Superhuman” Chad Netherland and Mentalist Bill Gladwell will astound the crowd with their amazing mental and physical abilities including; Man vs. Machine SUPER-BIKE hold, the Human Bullet Catch and astonishing predictions.

“The addition of the celebrity stage show is going to make the evening celebration just that much more entertaining,” says Darrell Manis, Special Events Director for Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not is the presenting sponsor for Gatlinburg New Year’s Eve celebration.  Other sponsors include Hollywood Star Cars and Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson.

The ball drop from the Space Needle is definitely the highlight of the night, but you don't want to miss the many restaurants and attractions that offer New Year's specials. They definitely make it easy to celebrate 2014 in Gatlinburg. Try some of the popular offerings such as buffets, music and a champagne toast. Visitors return to Gatlinburg annually to ring in the New Year, and they make it a family tradition.

Please call the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau at 800/588-1817 to get more information on this celebration and other local New Year's Eve parties and accommodations.
