You can see incredible scenery on terra firma, but some of the most amazing views can be enjoyed the higher you climb into the sky. Start with the view from your cabin or chalet deck: Many of the cabins and chalets in Gatlinburg offer wraparound decks where you can sit back and take in the gorgeous Smoky Mountain views. These decks are much loved by visitors and some have hot tubs to make relaxing outdoors even more enjoyable.

Enjoy aerial views of the Smokies while zip-lining in Gatlinburg: This activity gets the adrenaline going for young and old alike as you whiz over the treetops high over Gatlinburg. You'll skim at awesome speeds over 100 feet in the air. Some of the zip lines are up to 1500' long.

Most visitors want to go to the top of the Space Needle as it offers one of the most extraordinary views of Gatlinburg. The Space Needle tops out at 407'. You can ride an all-glass elevator to the observation deck for an awe-inspiring 360-degree view of Gatlinburg. While it's fun in summer, the Space Needle is always open, 365 days per year.

Gatlinburg Skylift: Ride 1800 feet over Gatlinburg on the Skylift. Enjoy exhilarating views of the Smoky Mountains and forests. It's especially fun to ride the Skylift at night and see the sweeping view of the city lights far below. Through August, the Skylift is open from 9 am - 11 pm, and you can call them and ask about rates for groups of 15 or more.

These are some of the most famous scenic views in Gatlinburg. While so many of the best summer views are along trails, creeks and rivers, you'll find many of the most remarkable sights high above the ground. The higher you go, the more you will appreciate the glorious mountain scenery.
