Spring into the new season by getting in touch with your creative side during “Hands On Gatlinburg” Arts & Crafts Weekend in the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community.
Arts and crafts lovers can learn from Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community artisans the techniques and traditions that permeate Appalachian craft heritage, while also discovering how to craft beautiful pieces of artwork with their own hands during this year’s “Hands On Gatlinburg” Arts & Crafts Weekend. From April 13 through April 15, more than 13 studios will host over 100 different workshops. An abundance of do-it-yourself style workshops will be offered to festivalgoers, from woodworking to glassblowing, painting, jewelry-making, watercolor, weaving, paper marbling, flintknaping and much more. Festivalgoers can keep the items they make to place alongside their other coveted works of art.
“Hands On Gatlinburg” Arts & Crafts Weekend is the ultimate creative learning experience for those that have always wanted to try their hand at arts and crafts making. Space is limited for these unique classes, with no class exceeding more than 10 students. Those interested in signing up for workshops are encouraged to get their tickets early to insure their chances of learning from an expert crafter.
