Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff and Winter Magic Kickoff welcomed a sellout crowd for the annual foodie festival. The Anakeesta Parkway location was a beautiful backdrop for the official lighting of the Winter Magic lights by city officials. Festival-goers were treated to free, live entertainment by the Eagles tribute band, On The Border – The Ultimate Eagles Tribute!
For the first time in 31 years, the Chili Cookoff limited entry to the event, with 1,200 hardcore chili fans buying up all the tickets before the cookoff. Additional precautions like touchless entry and mask requirement, booth contact shields, handwashing stations, and social distancing areas were put in place to honor the Tennessee Pledge guidelines.
Chili concoctions were just as creative as the booth decorations that ranged from honoring our Country’s Veterans to How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Vendors included: Ole Red Gatlinburg, Landshark Bar & Grill, Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg, Doc’s 321 Café, Hilton Garden Inn Gatlinburg, Ole Smoky Moonshine, Ripley’s Super Fun Zone, Anakeesta, Lodge Cast Iron Factory Store, Loco Burro Fresh Mex Cantina, Pucker’s Sports Grill, Crawdaddy’s Restaurant, Savannah Bee Company, Gatlinburg Rotary Club and Pi Beta Phi PTA.
