Before the sun descends behind the Great Smoky Mountains, plan to board the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway. Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park offers indoor ice-skating year round, and snow skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
In the summertime, this winter wonderland is transformed into a summer vacation paradise! Warm weather opens new opportunities with the Alpine Slide, a black bear habitat, bungee-fun, go karts, miniature golf, water rides, a Velcro wall jump and arcade games galore. As you prepare for another day of splendor in the mountains, start with a peaceful breakfast together. Today is a great day to visit the Gatlinburg's most popular attraction, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies! Plan to spend a couple of hours marveling at the creatures of the deep - you can even ask an educator all the questions that come to mind. This aquarium features a grand underwater tunnel that lets you feel like you are in the tank with the animals!
Make sure to reserve time to visit the candy shops and specialty stores along the Parkway. If you had not taken the time to get your picture taken at the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, make sure you do that before you leave!
After lunch, spend the afternoon visiting the Smoky Mountain Winery. Founded over 25 year ago, the winery produces award-winning vintages. Stop in for a free tour of the production facility and learn a little about the art of wine making. Following the tour, enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.
