Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is celebrating its 16th annual Fright Nights show this year with “Backwoods Terror 2: Back to the Woods”. Ripley’s year-round haunted house will be bringing back all your favorite mountain mutants from their popular 2011 Fright Night show “Backwoods Terror”. “We’ve done a lot of shows over the years, but we really seem to know how to portray cannibalistic mountain mutants well, and we have a lot of fun with it!” says Fred Hicks, whose alter ego, “Bob Wire” is well-known for his hog boots! “Who doesn’t love a good backwoods mutant chasing
you in the dark with a chainsaw?!” Ryan DeSear, general manager, adds humorously.
There is no extra charge for the special Fright Nights shows which run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October as well as November 1st. Shows begin nightly at 6:00pm with the popular character parade and run until close. This year’s featured celebrity guest will be Gunnar Hansen, the original ‘Leatherface’ from the 1974 classic “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. Gunnar will be appearing one weekend only, October 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Tickets to meet Gunnar are $13.99 + tax or you can purchase a special combo ticket for the celebrity meet and greet as well as the haunted house for $16.99 + tax.
Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is one of the few haunted houses in the nation that is open 365 days a year. Single admission tickets are $13.99 + tax for ages 12 and up and $7.99 + tax for ages 6-11. No one under the age of 6 is allowed due to the graphic nature of the facility, and those under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.
