Gatlinburg’s 17th Annual Taste of Autumn takes center stage with a new twist on tradition Tuesday, October 28, 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

Gatlinburg’s 17th Annual Taste of Autumn takes center stage with a new twist on tradition Tuesday, October 28, 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.  The evening will celebrate the Great Outdoors by challenging teams to participate in outdoor themed competitive activities.

Nan Kelley, Great American Country television network celebrity, will emcee the evening events and bring her “One Pan Nan” style of cooking to the stage in a cooking demonstration.  Attendees will also enjoy unlimited sampling of the best foods and drinks to be found in the Smoky Mountains!

In addition to tasting great food and beverages, attendees have the opportunity to experience the event at a more “hands on” level.  Businesses and individuals are encouraged to sign up as a team and test their outdoor skills in competition. Teams will be challenged to campsite construction, cast a fly rod, climb a rock wall and test their skills with a bow and arrow.

“As always, Taste of Autumn is a great opportunity to sample some of Gatlinburg’s outstanding food and beverage offerings and support the United Way of Sevier County,” comments Jim Downs, Gatlinburg CVB Special Events Director.  “’Celebrating the Great Outdoors’ brings to the forefront the unique outdoor activities that Gatlinburg offers as a gateway city to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.”

Nan Kelley is a popular host on the Great American Country network.  Her warm southern charm has made her a fixture in the Nashville Country music scene.  Famous for her quick and easy cooking style, Nan has recently launched her own cooking brand, “One Pan Nan.” She’s the television host of Opry Live from the Grand Ole Opry and a handful of series including the fan-voted GAC Top 20 Country Countdown.  She has also served as a host for the Shop-At-Home Network, Fine Living, HGTV Dream Home specials among others.

Tickets are $25 (children under 7 are free).  One hundred percent of the proceeds from Taste of Autumn benefit the newly reorganized United Way of Sevier County.
